When asked about her reasons for becoming a volunteer, Hester replied, “My son had a Big Brother for many years. His Big was such a great influence on his life that I wanted to do the same for a little girl. It’s my way of giving back.”
She and Aisa have become great friends who enjoy traveling and making each other laugh.
“My Little Sister has brought many hours of fun and laughter into my life. We’ve both shared some new experiences, and we’re cementing a relationship that will last a lifetime,” said Hester.
Aisa added, “My Big Sister is very nice, and we have so much fun together!”
Hester and Aisa’s favorite Big Brother Big Sisters trip was to Savannah.
“We camped at KOA and toured the Savannah area including some of the islands,” said Hester.
“I got to see the ocean!” declared Aisa.
“Having a Big Sister has helped me a lot,” revealed Aisa who lives with her grandparents. “Me and my Big Sister get to do a lot of fun things, and we laugh a lot together. I think all kids should have a Big Sister or a Big Brother!”
